Introduction
Often, we need to send or receive data/files from clients, and for a number of reasons email may not be a viable solution. For example, reasons not to email the data or files may include:
- Attachment size restrictions of the email program
- Sensitivity of the data to be sent
- Network restrictions on certain types of data or files
To send and receive files when email isn't an option ATS provides an FTP (File Transfer Protocol) server. Every client has their own username and password set, which is set up in advance by ATS staff. Each of these accounts has its own root or home directory that is inaccessible to any other account on the server. The user has full permissions to this folder, so you may add or delete files or folders at will. Only you and ATS can see anything in this folder. Additionally, there are two static folders which are read-only, and appear for every account. These are the /Public and /Resources folders. The /Public folder contains product brochures, or any other information that is publicly available. For the benefit of our clients the /Resources folder contains iMIS patches, demos of ATS software, and other iMIS utilities.
